Welcome to the homepage of the CORE #79/POC #50 class. In here you will find various photos and information about the class, as well as downloads of study guide material recommended for testing. Weber State University Continuing Education presents this law enforcement academy that is structured to provide perspective, knowledge, and training in this dynamic field. The breadth and depth of this training allows participants to acquire the necessary skills for certification as Peace officers with full police powers or as Special Function Officers.

Utah law requires all potential peace officers to receive basic training before they can be certified and function with any authority in the state. The POST Basic Training program program provides the basic training for law enforcement officers. POST also oversees and regulates several satellite academies which also offer basic training programs, such as the one we are taking here at Weber State University.

POST Basic Training Mission Statement
The mission of the Basic Training Bureau is to provide professional law enforcement training to new cadets through the best-known methods of adult learning. We always strive to serve our customers and to stay focused on who our customers are.
