MUSEUM FUN!
Grades 2-4
SECTION 1 (Start by the tree ring on the inside of the museum)
1. How old is this tree? (1 ring= 1 year of growth)
2. Was this Allosaurus A plant-eater or a meat-eater? How can you tell?
3. Look at the display of the Hawk and Cougar. What adventure do you think they are on? Write a short story about where they are going, what they are doing, and why they are on an adventure.
4. What do you notice about the rocks when a black light is turned on?
5. What kind of wood are the African masks made out of? Where is the last forest where the wood is found? In the space below draw your own African mask.
SECTION 2 (Marsh Living at Willard Bay Display)
1. What was the hollowed out stone with the rectangular rock used for?

5. Look at the skeleton of the saber-tooth tiger and the domestic cow. Notice how different the teeth are between the two. Write down the differences that you see and discuss why you think their teeth are so different.

SECTION 3 (Move to the far end of the museum to the rock and mineral display)
1. Go to the crystals on the far end of the museum. What is your favorite crystal in the display case? ______________________ What do you like about that crystal?
2. Go to the herbs and spices outside the museum. Why do you think herbs and spices were so important to people years ago?
