Our Mission

To involve K-16 teachers across Utah in professional opportunities which develop leadership and allow teachers to share expertise in the instruction of English and Language Arts.

  • National Council of Teachers of English is sponsoring “21st Century Literacies and The 21st Century Literary Map Project.” Basically, the invitation is to you--and to your colleagues and to your students--to create a literary map of your specific locale, region, or state, designing  maps through (1) researching literature and (2) using the medium best suited to achieving your intended purpose.   • The Utah Writing Project has teamed with UCTE/LA to bring educators and writers together! Check out what activities the UWP is offering teachers throughout the year!
  • The National Writing Project has expanded in Utah, with a new local chapter being called Wasatch Range Writing Project.  This chapter will serve teachers in Box Elder, Davis, Morgan, Weber, and Ogden school districts.
  • There are several positions on the UCTE/LA Board which need to be filled. Join the board and experience the rewards of serving Utah teachers!
