SLATESLATE is the political action arm of UCTE/LA. How much the local SLATE committee can accomplish depends on human resources. The more people who join the committee, the more issues we can keep track of, study and address. If you'd be interested in working on the committee, you can e-mail, write, or call the Utah SLATE Representative. If you don't have time to work on the committee, but would still like to keep current on SLATE issues, you can individually join the national SLATE organization by checking the SLATE box on your next annual NCTE dues statement and paying the SLATE $15.00 membership dues. Contact our UCTE/LA SLATE Representative for more information: Jackie Thursby Censorship Woes?Your UCTE Board now has a copy of the NCTE's Censorship Kit for the use of UCTE members.
