"I've always dreamed of being involved with criminal justice. I was influenced by my grandma, who read true-crime books and watched TV shows like 'Unsolved Mysteries.' But criminal justice is not about throwing people in jail; it's about deterring crime in a way that helps the community, and putting former offenders on the right path.

"I recently traveled to Europe for a study abroad program and got to watch a murder trial at England's 'Old Bailey,' one of the most famous criminal courts in the world. I think exposure to another country's legal system broadened my perspective and made my knowledge of the American legal system more relevant. What I've learned at Weber State is highly applicable to my current work."
